We appreciated taking part in the seminar on “Frugal Innovation for Sustainable Development Goals Affordable Green Excellence as Driver of Business and Societal Development” on 25. September in Mumbai.
Different speakers from Germany and India gave an insight into their work, research fields and findings regarding frugal innovations. With regard to the Sustainable Development Goals, there is a necessity for more frugal innovations. Frugal does not only refer to financial aspects. Dr. Rajnish Tiwari gave a short but clear definition of what frugal means:
F- Focused functionality
R - Robust and resource-efficient
U - User-friendly
G - Growth opportunities
A - Affordable (for consumer, society, environment and infrastructure)
L – Less complex
Next to the interesting input, there was time for networking. We are glad about the participation of the Hamburg University of Technology. The university is working closely with Indian stakeholders and welcomes many Indian students to Hamburg every year.
We thank DWIH New Delhi for organizing this interesting event and we are looking forward to further seminars.
