APK Delhi 2024 – A Success
The Asia-Pacific Conference (APK) 2024 in Delhi marked a significant achievement for Hamburg Representation Mumbai. This premier event brought together leaders and stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific region to discuss pathways for collaboration and sustainable growth. From our team, we were honoured to facilitate Hamburg’s strong presence, ensuring that our city’s voice was well- represented and valued in these discussions.
The event commenced with a thrilling hockey match that highlighted the remarkable talent and sportsmanship of both nations, embodying our mutual commitment to collaboration and respect. Following this spirited game, a warm welcome reception provided Hamburg Representation Mumbai with the opportunity to connect with prominent delegates, dignitaries, and friends of Hamburg from across India and Germany. At the Welcome Reception, we were especially delighted to interact with Mr. Robert Habeck, German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, in a brief session organized by the OAV Young Leaders. This unique opportunity allowed us to engage directly with Mr. Habeck, exchanging insights and exploring ideas on de-risking strategies, economic security and measures in raw materials policy, among many.
During a dedicated session, distinguished leaders and experts like the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, the German Chancellor, Mr. Olaf Scholz and H.E. Robert Habeck, the Vice-Chancellor & Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Federal Republic of Germany, discussed the future of Indo-German relations, sharing insights that underscored the significance of cultural exchanges and collaborative initiatives.
The event concluded with India Night, a vibrant celebration of India’s rich culture and heritage. This festive occasion provided an engaging atmosphere for networking.
A notable highlight was the attendance of our partners from Hamburg, Julie-Ann Tai Shiraishi from the Senate Chancellery Hamburg, Lee Lee Ong from Hamburg Invest, and Dr. Doris Hilger from Handelskammer Hamburg, and Mr. Prashant Rao, the Hamburg Ambassador for Bengaluru reflecting Hamburg’s dedication to fostering partnerships across Asia. Their expertise and engagement with regional leaders emphasized Hamburg’s ongoing commitment to economic and social partnerships in Asia.
Additionally, we were pleased to see many Hamburg-based companies actively participating, including the three major industry players from Hamburg—Airbus, Aurubis, and NXP Semiconductors. Their presence at the APK 2024 highlighted the city’s proactive approach to strengthening international ties, bringing valuable connections that promise mutual growth and innovation.
Hamburg Representation Mumbai extends its gratitude to the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, whose seamless organization ensured an engaging and well-structured event, allowing meaningful exchanges and networking opportunities for all participants. With such a well-coordinated effort, APK 2024 stood as a significant milestone in deepening Hamburg’s connections with Asia.
