Announcement: Hamburg Representation Mumbai elects its new Representative for India and Mumbai region.
“The end of one journey is the beginning of the next”
Joseph M. Marshall
Just more than 10 years back, the IGCC welcomed the Hamburg Representation Mumbai. Since then, the long association has not only led to some fruitful collaborations but also been instrumental support for many Indian and Hamburg based companies.
Four years back, Lea Miram joined the Hamburg Representation Mumbai and thus, also became a part of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. Throughout her tenure, she strengthened the link between the City of Hamburg and that of Mumbai. India and Germany have two very significantly different cultures, but the transition was seamless and heartwarming!
Lea quoted ‘Over the years many great memories came together and overall, it was a pleasure to represent my favorite city in the world in my favorite country in the world. Working at this interface with a wide range of stakeholders from business, culture and politics has provided me a vivid picture of the great potential of a multilevel cooperation and the benefits of a strong partnership between Hamburg and India.
Of course, it’s not easy to leave. However, Hamburg is not only a home to me but also to many Indians. The sharp increase of Indian businesses and students deciding to come to Hamburg to create a future, contributing to Hamburg’s multifaceted, vibrant cultural live, will keep the Indian connection close by. I am confident with Sameeha Sule as the the new Hamburg representative and her extensive experience in strengthening the various Indo-German relations, we will see a fresh approach to promoting and facilitating the focus sectors of Hamburg in India and vice versa.
Sameeha Pradeep Sule has been selected as the new Hamburg representative in Mumbai and will be taking after Lea Miram. She has been supporting Hamburg-based companies and institutions with their queries with respect to India since 2020.
“I love the conjunction of cultures and through my activities in Mumbai, I am constantly working towards promoting an enriching experience on both sides. India is a large, heterogeneous and sometimes extremely complex country – therefore, I am very pleased that we as HRM can support companies in their activities and strengthen relations with such a fascinating country and globally significant market. I am very delighted and thankful for this opportunity. Lea was a great mentor and I hope that I will be able to effectively walk in her footsteps and do more for the Indo-Hamburg Business Community’’ added Sameeha Pradeep Sule.
